Could you post some pics of the inside areas of the front/rear trunk metal areas (along the rear trunk below the lights) also some closer pics of the windshield cowl and some pics of the interior floor pans. Engine compartment hell hole area and along the side longitudinal channels. Thank you

at the bottom of the eBay ad, the seller added a note dated yesterday. (lower paragraph)
so, I'm assuming this is the reason the deal fell through.
but for those asking questions about the problem areas of the car, perhaps the high bidder can elaborate on why he chose to pass on this 914.
would be helpful and appreciated.

I think @paulFV8 has asked the questions that needs to be answered. I dont think it is fair for me to publicly comment on it, since the seller is trying to re-sell it and has an active advertisement going.

At this point not providing pictures of the critical areas seems counter productive. I for one am tempted to assume the worst now. Why not provide those pictures and let potential buyers see for themselves? Or is there something lurking that is worse than we could imagine?

He is a real person and the car is real. Seen and touched it, but did NOT inspect it for any body issues but can confirm it was an inland car. Wheels and brake and suspension stuff all real, saw it happen at the workshop I use.

Seller, Andrew, put a lot of time and money into it but never really got it running right. Car had engine bay wiring issues that I helped identify which is the extent of my involvement in the car.

As with any remote car purchases extensive pictures and shared diligence via a forum is a very good idea. Just to be super extra clear I didn’t inspect this car - just tried to help Andrew with some engine issues.

I’ve tried to reach seller on EBay to address any signs of rust etc with pics but have never received feedback. Good luck with the auction/sell.

Andrew, while I know this is more work for you, my advice would be to follow what Cary did on his post for a 914-6 roller conversion. Remove the rocker panels and post photos of the longs. That will go a long way to resolving questions on serious issues and is certain to improve your selling price.

I was tempted to bid when I saw it was @6K with about 25 minutes to go, but I wouldn't have gone that high anyway. Way too much room for speculation over exactly what he was hiding. Or maybe not hiding anything just too lazy to get meaningful pictures and maybe that cost him money in the end. There were certainly a lot of nice parts on it!
