Have you looked at the Recaro pole position seats? https://www.evasivemotorsports.com/store/pr...-leather-black/ I got a set and they seam great. I'm 5'10'' and 40'' waist. It's a good fit for me and still plenty of room for head protection if taller. You can get brackets to mount the 914 lower sliders on these too. I believe there's a few members using these seats. Only issue that I see is the back pad will need to be removed. Depending on cost, I was looking at maybe having 914rubber make a carbon fiber version of their plastic backing. I'm waiting for PMS to send me my seat brackets to test fit it all... Yeah I know Clay , no pedals and missing a few other parts.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) @LukeM i had not yet thought about those, but on the back pad i also have a fiberglass backpad that is covered with vinyl no stock foam, i had 993/boxster seats that fit fine that way just too wide and hit the hand brake. thanks for the info, i like the look of those, definitely they give more head protection. Take a look at them they are nice seats. They aren't cheap but I liked them over other aftermarket seats. I have the same setup as Eric does with the PMS seat brackets (on order). Eric what are you using for a back pad/cover if any? |

Have you looked at the Recaro pole position seats? ' I have these in my 6 and at 5'11" I have to move them forward to get into the right seating position so there seems to be plenty of room both in legs and head room. Bracket adapters are PMS and mount to stock rails. Downside is price $$ and depending on your look they are more resto-mod. Very comfortable overall and great support. those do look great , and those matching harnesses too, also the Getty dash is awesome!!! just what i need, more stuff to think about........... |

I didn't read all of this but I did the thinned out'memory foam deal, works but makes the seat bottom pretty hard.
You can cut out the drivers floor and lower it say an inch. Teenhulk has given me his 914 project as he's now 6'-5" and wants a bigger car, plus he knows one day he'll get my 914 and he gets to test drive P- cars. BTW I have a C4S here with $6K in Porsche GT3 seats, IMHO they suck for getting in and out of. |

I do like the look. So i also will slide the seat forward a bit, even a 6'2" in a stock seat its a reach to get the clutch all the way in if seat is all theway back. I need to find one somewhere around here i can try out. |

I know there are some knock off versions out there too that I've seen on Car-Bone. I can see if I can get a pic or measure from my heel to the pedals at full 'back' position. Every time I get out of the car I slide them all the way back to make getting in and out easier past the cage, but I come forward a good amount to get to where I can put the clutch pedal to the floor. Seems to me they'd be ideal for tall drivers. |
