Out here in Vegas its Hot ! so I am installing a front oil cooler and was wondering has anyone ever routed the lines through the heater tubes in the longs ? i do not have exchangers so they tubes seem like they would be perfect ?? i will be running the lines down the passenger side just for easy access to the sandwich plate. let me know what you guys think ?

Most of the oil lines I've seen are braided and braided will eat sheet metal. Plus braided doesn't bend tight. Plus it's pricey.
I did see a swap that had an oil/water heat exchanger. So the oil stayed in the engine bay and less was needed. The water ran up front to a small radiator with a fan. I've seen enough catastrophic oil hose failures that this made sense. I'd do all 5/8" and use a Bosch heater pump and a large heater core. |
