From the PET diagram it looks like the bolt (#15) to clamp the heater flappers to the connecting tubes might be a special shoulder bolt. Of course they are NLA. Anyone know if these are special bolts or where to find them?

Thanks! I actually need two. I also have a box of spare hardware in the shed I need to look through, but I literally have to strap on show shoes to get there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Does not need to be a special shoulder bolt. A common 6mm allan head bolt with washer and square nut work well.

I'll make it for you from scratch to match part @brant has it if comes to that to get you a matched pair.

You're on your own to put the proper plating on it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Thanks all. My backup plan is to follow Bruce's route but I'm pretty sure the heat will feel funny if I do (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

I actually found a NOS bolt from my buddies in Latvia. They only had one though so I'll PM you @brant . Much appreciated (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Thanks also @Superhawk996 . Even though I know you would be laughing at me the whole time you were fabricating a bolt, I appreciate the offer. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

@bbrock

Nah, I've done same crazy things for myself. I have a 1964 Honda Dream that had some crazy JIS screws with an odd thread pitch that held on the tank badges. Can't find them anywhere. Of course they were rusty and we all know that just won't do. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I made them out of stainless, formed a phillips head (instead of JIS head that looks like a phillips but strips if you use a phillips head screwdriver) by heating red hot and pounding (I mean forging (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)) in the head formation. Then rounded it all off to look like the JIS screw, and finally threaded it with the lathe.

It was a stupid amount of work for 4 screws. But they sure look nice!

I've also made wierd British Pipe Thread fittings for my buddies Formula car with a Hewland transmission with odd fittings.

If you don't get what you need I'm here for you!
