I purchased this 1980-83 915 transmission a few years back. The individual I purchased the unit from had bought it as a rebuilt unit without paperwork and had his mechanics (he owned a automotive shop here in Denver) pull the side cover off and reported it
looked nice and clean inside. A couple things I have noticed. The shift rod appears to have been cut and a slight notch is there. I don’t know if this was done to accommodate a cable shifter or something. Also, after pulling on the shift rod and putting it in to gear it makes a
noise inside when I turn both output shafts. I’m not a mechanic, know little about transmissions, have no paperwork,
So have decided to sell as a very nice core. I would plan on going through the transmission. I purchased and will include in the sale a complete shift rod as well. I will assist in shipping. Please contact for any additional info I might provide. Price 3K plus shipping.Attached Image Attached Image
