I just ordered a custom length accelerator cable for my carbed car directly from Terry Cable. I'm getting ready to order another because even at 4" longer than stock, it isn't quite long enough for stock routing including the little orange canvas loop near the battery tray. So as soon as I figure out the right length, I'll order another and keep this one as a spare. TerryCable Is that longer version a order-able product or do you have to go through a process? |

There is no process. Just call and tell her that you want a 914 cable that is 6” longer. Then they will send you this cable. But read this post. Their cable does not have the sleeve around the cable in the tunnel section. So I would not buy this again. |

Pretty sure I have most of the parts needed to fabricate these. I can let you know Wednesday. I had started down this path some time ago, and would be able to do some custom lengths too. I'm at the day job til then. If so I could get you one in a day or two. Mark That would be great. |

Using brute force, I was able to pull the jammed cable (with pull-cord) out of the back.
The Terry-cable is installed. But I can hear and feel it rubbing against the inside if the tunnel-tube. It is not going to last very long. Let's convince 914Rubber to start making these for us. The one positive thing that comes out of all this is that 6" additional length is just right for carbureted (Hex-bar) cars. |
