* Only known PTS Ice Green Metallic 914
*2.0 4-cyl
*Documented History from New

Currently for sale we have a sublime 1974 Porsche 914 with the most desirable 2.0 liter engine. Per the Certificate of Authenticity, the car was special ordered in a Paint-to-Sample Ice Green Metallic through a Porsche dealer T.N.M. Lathrop, Inc. of Niantic, Connecticut. Ice Green Metallic, a 1974 Porsche factory hue for the 911, was not available on the 914 (only PTS),

which probably makes it the only one ever made. It was also ordered with the upgraded interior package which consisted of a center console, gauges etc. The first owner, Dr. Alex Rodriguez of Castro Valley, California purchased the car in 1974. Well documented records show that Dr. Rodriguez serviced the car regularly during his ownership up until he sold it to the second owner, Joseph Brackman of New Palestine, Indiana in 1983. Mr. Brackman used the car sparingly over his 30 year tenure, driving it only 3-4 times a year. In 2011, the car was purchased by a long time enthusiast Robert Nellums of Lafayette, Indiana.

Nellums enjoyed the well-preserved 914 until a scratch on the fender dictated a respray, which started a comprehensive restoration in 2013, documented by photos and invoices on file. In addition to new paint, the interior was re-trimmed in its original beige, the suspension and brakes were refinished and rebuilt, and dozens of other ancillary components were repaired or replaced. The low mileage engine which was in good running condition was removed and resealed and shows just 74,441 original miles. As it sits, the car has been beautifully restored to a showroom condition and its potentially one-of-one color combination looks absolutely fantastic and is sure to draw a crowd.

The car was further improved in 2018, treated to a comprehensive service and sorting at 914 Werke in Seattle, Washington. Most recently, the car was treated to a full inspection by CarparcUSA in 2021 where several minor points were addressed and swiftly fixed. At the same time the 914 received a mechanical service and check-up where all fluids were changed before it was taken out for a test drive…what a little gem to drive! The 2.0 liter engine pulls strong through the side-shift 5-speed gearbox, the car handles very well and the brakes have efficient stopping power. The mounted aftermarket “mild” sports exhaust was left in place but the original one comes with the car along with other spare parts.

The car has now been professionally detailed and is ready to be enjoyed by the next caretaker. This is a real opportunity to buy one of the best 914 2.0 on the market, a real 70’s icon in a unique color scheme. The 914 and especially the 2.0, despite the fact that prices over the last years firmed up against general trends, remains an undervalued mid-engine sports car and is at the same time a very enjoyable companion on a long weekend trip.

The car comes with the COA, a detailed service history, original owners manual, original spare, jack etc.

Asking $69,500 obo.
