...come to Germany where the Autobahn is... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Actually we have some unrestricted stretches left on our Autobahn´s, but traffic usually is to heavy and with all those electronic helpers in nowadays vehicles the number of stupid drivers is increasing rapidly. Smartphone related accidents have outnumbered drunk driving accidents here. Mostly head on crashes, wrong lane - oops. The "Green Party" (I´d rather call them socialists (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) ) is pushing hard on a general speed limit and chances are quite high they finally get through with it after the next elections in September. This is one of their main emphasis besides "saving the climate". Our car industry has suffered some hard blows recently with the (forced) switch to "electric" and the "diesel gate". Still - our Autobahns are by far the safest roads and I - and many others - hope they dont get the speed limit through. Greets, Arno The difference is in Germany most have good autobahn etiquette, overtake then pull in. This is not the case in many places, whilst I was living in the US i saw so much bad stupid driving at very low speeds so the fixation on speeds is ridiculous. I sat at 140mph on an Autobahn for quite some time, no issues apart from when I had to pull over to allow some Audi A8 to cruise by. The green Party are a bunch of tofu munching morons want an all out war on the motorist and need to be stopped. They are using this climate change malarkey to push their stupid agenda. here in the uk we have another bunch of cretins who are pushing their "20 is plenty" mantra to reduce speeds even more. If they succeed with that it should be mandatory that this extended to Ambulances and Fire Brigade so when they or a family member die etc due to a slow response then they can actually say that they don't care. The war on the motorist is getting ridiculous together with these Electric car Zealots... What we really need is an engine that is fuelled by the tears of Greta... |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Having lived in Europe, and traveled extensively with experience on both the German Autobahn and the Italian Autostrade's . . . you don't even know the 1/2 of it here in the US. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) US drivers are among the worst in the world. |
