Early switches are tricky. You have to take out steering column to do it right. Wires have to be pulled through column and soldered into plug harness. 1970-71 VW bug turn signal switch is what you need to use. If it was me, I would look for a NOS steering column. Chances are you old one is worn out anyway. Look over on theSamba.com, Ebay or put a WTB here and see what comes up. Make SURE you find the column number you have in the car. Seems like there is a 12 pin or 14 pin version.
