Bought the rubber replacement tops from 914 Rubber a while back for my 70-6. My son tried to order some for his 72 1.7 and was told they are back-ordered. As he needed them now, I let him use mine and he will order me another set when they are again available. I emailed 914 Rubber to ask if they are different for a 70 6 and a 72 914 and was told they only make them for the 914 1970-74. So are the tops the same?

They are the same. The difference is that early body has a center mount for the section over the license plate.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) '70 ~ '74 are the same, whether a '4' or a '6'. It's the '75 ~ '76 that are different, they have the 'BUB's (Big Ugly Bumpers)
