Seems like a very nice car, but if asking for the moon, I would expect pictures of the entire car and hi-quaility pics to be sure. This seller is just hoping for the person with FU Money that just wants the bragging rights to be able to say "i just bought it". Personally, I thought the photo-spread was poor quality. guessing you can get more pics/inspection from the dealer in question. maybe its in the league of those couple of original cars that pushed 90K a few years back? same dealers have a more regular good condition 76 priced at around 40K. ebay auction seems strange, not a major auction house. |

914’s used to be cheap fun. I guess it’s our fault for letting the cat out of the bag.

withdrawn from auction - item no longer available. ebay a way to advertise item and float a figure out there? either it sold for a good price but not over 100K or it is still at the dealer. florida. be worth a look if someone was in the area. @mepstein . thats what 356 guys used to say in the 80s. thankfully i think its restricted to original preserved ones that pull surprising $. collector/art market stuff. some buyers of cars not even petrol heads in the least way. i can believe some 914s got stashed back in the 80s. it would have been in the context of rising 356/speedster values and that happening in the context of nearly all those cars having been thrashed into the ground at that point in time. there were really no stashed 356s in good condition down here then, they had all been driven within an inch of their lives by people who liked to drive. whoever did the stashing back then has had to wait a long long time. |
