Planets aligned for TTOD saturday here in Mass. I figured
out the course on the last run and got by a couple fast guys by 0.1 sec. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) (we won't mention the formula-v that was 6 seconds faster) 07/23 NCR run5 Unfortunately my battery pack went south before the last few runs, this is a couple seconds slower. This course opened up for the last part where even in my stock car I redlined 3rd gear (80mph with -6). Makes for interesting braking to watch. |

Did I mention I luv in car AX vids?
That looked like a very nifty course ...not tricked up like so many, even the Chicago box was big ... good job on the TTOD. That won't hurt your lead over me in the 914 cup thingy.....damnit (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif) |

JP I'm in 'improved', I would guess you have a few more mods
and in one of the higher 914cup groups. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) |

Excellent camera setup! Cool to watch the feet like that... I think I use my clutch more than you!
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) I don't run AX, but I improvise my own courses occasionally... is there anything wrong with steering with your forearms crossed? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) M |

I would recommend driving with your arms crossed only
while turning (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) We had quite a bunch of different cars. One guy who always raced his new mini bought a new lotus. He had hoosiers but probably doesn't have it dialed in yet. A couple fast boxsters, a '70 911 with 3.6 should have beat me, the 1997 911TT with 305/30/18 hoosiers in the back should beat me. And one friend with 997S, no race tires, and not very much experience was only about 3 seconds back. At least the speed section was safe, unlike last year trying to slalom at >75mph on a 75ft wide track. |

That's a great video!
The split screen really shows what goes on. Things happen quick on a a/x course. Not like NASCAR where you ride around with your foot to the floor lap after lap. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) That a great clip to show people what a/x is all about. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) FTD Paul |

Awesom vid. Great driving. Congrats on TTOD! Your using two cameras? How do you sync them? I wish we could get a wide open course like that. We don't get to see much third gear stuff in Portland.

Gary: You shoulda been at that DE training thingy in the Pro Pits. I was on the limiter in 2nd on the outgoing slalom (I set the cones for it (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)). 3rd may have been better, but I was on my limiter too. Coming back I was in 3rd for more than half of it. I had a couple guys along for the ride. The first was laughing & giggling. The second was watching me, crossed arms & all (during the few glimps' I got of him). Them track guys got an eyeful of what AX is all about. Chuck & I were the only AX guys there. I didn't get any direct comments but overheard more than one "these guys do this all the time" (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) |
