just be careful, stepping up from a tired old 1.8L to a 2056 with UHMPF opens up a whole box of new problems. you actually will have to change the way you drive as all this power now interferes with your smoothness. now, when i hit the gas in 2nd, the rear end comes around on me. didn't do that on my 1.8L ... andy's got it right on. really, i'm still learning how to apply my new-found power. just jumping on the throttle ain't the answer. you really have to learn how to feed it in and balance the car with it. and this is only with 2056 cc's!
plus power eats tires. but that's worth it (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) |

LOL! Andy, I dont think I'll have much of a problem as I dont wear combat boots when I drive. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Infact I have some very sexy driving shoes that are garunteed to help with power modulation. |

Come on Dr. Composer, tell me your mind isn't counting those MS when your not heading towards the finish line. But is there anything like a perfect run? I've never done it, or if I did I'd be thinking....now if I can just take than one lefthander without braking.... |

Don't remind him, unless you want to be looking at his backside. If he gets driving shoes it'll be a 1 second advantage over those boots. |

no, of course not. there is never such a thing. or it's a 1 in 10^100000000000000000000000000000 chance there is ALWAYS more time out there. it is just a matter of finding it, and applying it. honestly, i've never thought, "that was just as fast as i could go". i KNOW i'm leaving time on the table. grant, i found a driver's suit to match your driving shoes (IMG:http://www.enlighted.com/media/mesdeasirkas/msfullfront2x400.jpg) very manly looking. very manly |

too bad you guys don't have a clue what you're talking about ... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) yeah sure, i bet your shoes would make me a second faster! yeah, that must be it. the shoes! hahaha, gawd, that is funny. thing is, i've been wearing boots just like these all the time, every single day, since age 15. i don't have any other shoes. i don't *want* any other shoes. that's what *I* feel comfortable with. one gotta feel comfortable in his shoes while racing. i would *suck* if i had to drive with your ballet shoes instead. they look gud on you guys when you're tiptoeing around the pit area complaining about the spanking i just delivered to you, but they're really not my cup of tea ... oh, and them boots work well off-course too ... Only one word to describe that car, i.e. "Perfect." And still fast as stink and talk about handling. That car is about as much fun as you can have, a complete package. My son, Loren, will never forget his first ride in the orange machine on the back streets of Reno. I just wish we could get Pat Costin down to a few GGR or LPR events to show the people down here. As to Dwight, I've never met him, but he is one of those people that can show up and secure TTOD in any competitive car. That's why it is so great to have people like Terry Z. still out still driving with us. Terry hasn't missed a PARADE in like 20 years. The thing I enjoy most is talking with him about the best lines around any course. And he is the first guy to sit down after an event, over a beer and replay the days events. In my view real drivers always share, because they want to their compeition to know everything about any course and still beat them fair and square. |

Nicely put, and a big thanks from us Bay Area guys that you come out and help. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/clap.gif) whenever I'm driving I hear you in my head telling me how to steer the car, go smooth and floor it! Here's another shot of Pat's car. KT Attached image(s) |
