I posed this question in my build thread but I guess I’ll get more traction here in a separate thread. Root_Werkes contributed an answer and I don’t disagree.
Would like to know if any problem hooking a CDI direct to battery or go to switched power as some diagrams have suggested. I like the switched power version just like to know where best to tap into. Here is my original post:

I’m now working on some electrical fiddly bits.
This car has the CDI box, the old cast iron distributor and black transformer ( coil ) .
I’m looking for verification and some help.
First off I’m not putting a battery anywhere near this car till I know the layout of wiring is correct. I’ve gone over many threads and the Haynes book for references.
Needless to say there is some conflicting information.
Some of my original harness was modified by a previous mechanic (old D-jet issues) but for the most part seems to be “as” the original .

So here’s the lay of the land:
RELAY PLATE: purple/black wire to pin #1 on transformer.
red/black wire to pin # 15 “A” on transformer.
yellow wire to starter.

CDI BOX ( I have a reproduction PartsKlassic harness)
Terminal A blue wire to pin#15 “A” on transformer
Terminal B red wire to ?
Terminal C black wire to distributor (points tab)

Alternator plug into factory location on relay plate.
All braided grounds connected.
This all seems correct. My QUESTION is where should the red wire of terminal B go to?
Some diagrams show it to switched power at relay plate & some show it going to battery. What is safe and appropriate? Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
