My guess is that most roadworthy 914 are recent imports.

think a few got there via aus (orig from usa) about 10 to 20 years ago if in converted rhd format. there seemed to be quite a flow of cars generally out of aus to uk a decade or so back.

How Many Left gives a good general idea but is only as accurate as the log books and some cars don't have all model info on the paperwork so instead of 911, 914 etc might just say coupe. Hence it usually underestimates how many are on the road - or SORN - which is registered but off the road.

These results are based on cars with MOT's and cars over 40 years old are MOT exempt.

When I get my 6 back on the road I will be getting an MOT as I want it to be checked over, I can check the link to see if the number changes.
