Just got back from having the windshield replaced at Safelite(some hurricane rubble flew up from a passing car I guess). We could not get the trim to go back on. New clips were installed, but just couldn`t get it to line back up. Then I remembered reading HERE about Chevy S10 trim being used. Had a talk with the installer(Mark) about it,and he pulled out some PPG universal trim with a chrome center. Well any way here it is. I LIKE IT! Oh yeah is anyone looking for stock windshield trim. I have two complete sets with corner & center clips, one good one not so good

How does it join back together when the two ends meet?

There is a butt seam in the middle @ the bottom. After looking at it this afternoon, I noticed the inside perimiter of the glass will have to be painted or tinted to hide the inside edge of the wind frame. sure would have been easier to have done it before the installation.Looks like about 1 1/2" you know like the newer cars have. How about some detail? Universal trim? Can you get a pic of the cross section of it? Do they have any without the chrome center? Manufacturer?

I posted the question about silk screening that band with no replys. Someone found out how to epoxy paint a band where the butyl strip contacts but I lost the thread. He used a one piece rubber extrusion on the outside that looked clean and modern...

The trim is made by PPG. I thinking about something like window tint to trim edge on the outside of the glass? The epoxy paint sounds like a good idea too.

Paint peeled? Surface preparation, 100%.

There are paints made for glass.
