I figured I should post a bit of news for the Garage...
First pic is the previous 914 (Harlot was her name)I built with the help of many on this board back a few years ago. The shop I had burnt down, and this is the car I lost.
However there was another 914 that was in the barn that belonged to my brother which was saved except smoke damage. He sold it to me after the fire. Attached Image

I lost interest for a number of years while life marched on... I almost decided to sell it all off... but something changed my mind... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)
This is what I hauled out last yr... the only car that was saved from the fire. It was on the other side of the barn thankfully only got smoke damage... it needed a bit of elbow grease. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) Attached Image

Welcome back.

I think you should name the new one, "Phoenix".

I am very sorry about Harlot - heart breaking.

But, welcome back where you belong. Now let's see some pics of your new car getting cleaned up and driven to reignite that passion. Nothing drives like a 914. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Isn’t that a 914 quote!

Sorry that you lost a great 914, but gotta say the one you've got looks great too!

Glad to have you back, and please do post more pics of your 914. Very curious about its tire sizes—I know everyone loves GT flares, just as I do, but that wheel/tire package looks great on your car!

I think the tires that are on those cookies are 60 215 15 the fenders had been pulled.
Those tires look great but they are very old and hard.

Of course I had to get some fuchs for the girl! The car already had SC front suspension and five bolt rears lucky for me... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) Two of them lived through the fire, so I had them blasted and sanded the lips down to 1500. Then polished the lips and sprayed some single stage gunmetal flake on the centers.Attached Image

This is how it buffed out! It took a lot of cleaning ... and a fair bit of polishing. I thought I would have to replace the windows but fantastic and soap cleaned them off. I happened to have a different trunk lid that is almost the same color as the paint was pretty bubbled. The paint is about a 20 footer. But that is the way it will stay for some time.
This is gong to be my driver....

How is it in the car? We had a house fire (caused by a lightning strike) years ago and everything had to be deep cleaned to get rid of the smell. Hope you don't have that issue here. Great looking car!
