Looking for original black vinyl material to make or recover a backpad. I have located one that is a close match but the material is quite thin, so I am looking for that material in a slightly thicker

My other option is to have everything such as seats, backpad console, sun viosrs reconstructed in an all leather look but would prefer not to have to spend the extra money

Have you tried asking a local re-trimmer? Bet they can match it.

Would he be able to cut the vinyl for a kit in black?

I don’t normally use him. He’s expensive and likes doing the whole job, not just selling parts. I was just using him as an example that most auto upholstery shops will have a big selection.
