Hey, knock it off! I don't take pictures of you at work, and make funny comments!

Now that would make a good thread: "What the heck do you look like at work?" Could be interesting.

Yup, if I stay unemployed for a bit longer, I'll probably look like the picture above (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Except on the board, I would have: need money for beer and rust bucket!

Take the sign away from him and replace it with a shovel.... Then work him 12 hours straight- Be nice and give him all the water he can drink.

I once sold an engine to an old hippie...
The guy calledme and said he wanted an engine for his bus and said he had 10K to spend on something that would not leave him stranded..

a few months later and well into the project he wanted to come check on the engine and bring me a deposit.... well you guesed it, it was all in change and dollar bills.......

He then commenced to tell me that he made that much IN ONE DAMN MONTH being a begger!!! I could not believe that he had the balls to actually tell me that, much less BRAG about cheating hard working people out of their earned money!

I was so furious that I gave him back his 200.00 binder payment and told him to disappear- Damn I can't stand a friggin begger....

How many times has someone come up to you and asked for a dollar because they ran out of gas? I don't know why, but they single me out! I stopped giving when the guy walked into the store with me and bought a beer with my "gas money".

Hell, I'll help anyone, BUT don't ask me for a dime!

If I see you are in need I'll help you, but don't ask me for a dollar, especially when your back is just as strong as mine! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pissoff.gif) The worst place I have ever been for beggers was in Memphis TN when I was in Turbine engine school... its insane!

Same goes for employees... The ones that ASK for a raise are better off going somewhere else- They *think* thay are worth more than they are getting paid, so its not long before they start to slack or steal...... If theyare worth it, they get it because I notice, otherwise don't ask me or you might just be finding a newspaper looking for a new job!

But- I'm an asshole.........

I agree.

but at the same time, if i passed that guy on the street and he says " man, can you spare a dime, I'm trying to get enough cash for Jake to build my engine"
I'd probably give it to him.

Had a guy stop me outside of a 7-11 a few years ago, "hey man can you spare some change, me and my budy want to get drunk" I gave him $2.00 because he was honest. When I came out we had a little chat, funny guy he earned it (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) Kept callin me California, asked me if I had ever thought about acting cause I looked like I should be in the movies. All this AFTER I gave him the money and never asked for any more.Sometimes bums are cool to hang with (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) Ask Scot Thatcher, he spent some time under Miles's bridge (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif)

The last bum that I gave money to, back in 1994, asked me for some change for the "United negro cheeseburger fund." I got a chuckle so I gave him my burdensome pocket change. He came out a few minutes later and showed my friend and I a reciept for the burger.
I find that those of us who have been down and worked our way up seem to be less charitable. Perhaps, it is due to our righting our selves with out having to beg. I have been homeless and lived in a car before and I will be the first to give a hand up rather than a hand out. I like handing a bum a neutra grain bar or something just to see their expression (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
