So Doc. You've been here long enough, is it the heat or the humidity? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) Supposedly hit 104 deg. here in RIC today (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/chair.gif) and what am I doing? Cutting floor pans out of a 230 SL (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) Rust sticks REALLY good to sweaty arms (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif)

Humidity. It rained on me while I was riding my motorcycle and I didn't realize it wasn't my sweat until I stopped (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

I was at stoplight in Monterey behind a new Ferrari a few years ago, a panhandler came up to the passenger door and I could clearly see the driver lean over and hand the lady $100! She just turned around and walked away, no thank you, not a smileā€¦.. nothing. At that point I realized that giving money to someone like that simply justifies the behavior rather than actually helping the person.

Driving a $200k car must make someone feel pretty guilty when they are confronted with someone holding their hand out.

I use to drop a buck or two on a Panhandler that hung out at the freeway exit I had to take for work.

Until work made me come in 2 hours early at 4 am, and I saw him jump out of a Lexus, smooch the blond who was sliding over to take the wheel, and grab his sign out of the trunk.

Unbelievable.

Hey, knock it off! I don't take pictures of you at work, and make funny comments!

Now that would make a good thread: "What the heck do you look like at work?" Could be interesting.

Get your hands out of your pants, I wear regular clothes at work..

HEY WAIT! YOU ARE SICK!

You'd think so, but it's not always true... bastards.

Not that I'll ever have that problem, if I ever have a car that expensive, you'll see a mail box on the side and a microwave in the passenger seat, because I'll be living in it.

A guy on crutches came up to me at the gas station and gave me that " do you have a some change to spare, I ran out of gas" bit. I asked him where his car was (while lookning at the crutches (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/huh.gif) ). He pointed randomly toward the parking lot.
I told him that I had a gas can and could fill it for him. He told me "Thank you anyway ma'am. I should be able to bring the car over here." And he hobbled away on his crutches.

Later that day I saw him 10 miles across town at another corner gas station! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

It amazes me how desperate people are for gas money to hobble 10 miles across town on crutches.

Unbelievable.

local news did a thing on panhandlers here that claim to be homeless...

they followed one lady home... she hopped in her BMW (about 4 years old) and drove to her house in a prominant part of town...

another guy they followed the whole week, he "works" the streets here, stays in a nice apt. and then on friday after rush hour, he goes back to oklahoma, gets his other car(not the POS he is seen in here, a newish mustang, IIRC) from his big house, and spends the next couple of days in the Indian casino... partying like there's no tommorrow...

another(a midget) used the "will work for food" gimmick, and people would give him combo meals from the nearby mcdonalds and food from their grocery bag... he throws it in the sewer because he's really not hungry... I'm sure he eats after he gets back to his denton house.

these people are living better than most hard-working people and all they do is stand and beg... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flipa.gif)

my dad even offered to pay a few panhandlers in Austin to help his "clean-up" crew(picking up nails and "trash" from the ground while they are putting the roof on) , he offered to pay them $100/day and feed them 2 meals a day... not one person was willing to do it... it was too much like work
