I have found a good anodizer and polishing shop and did a batch of horizontal targa bar trim that turned out great. I am going to do a batch of window posts. I have three sets of early and 8 sets of late posts.
Pricing should be about $60 per post. It will require removing out the rivets fro the steel brackets and reinstalling them. Will probably need to replate them while they are off. I need to do several sets at a time to cover the minimum costs. I am good on cores for now to get started but could use more if there is enough interest. Who is in? |

Hi Bruce, Great timing. I’ll take a late set. Thanks. Bruce, can you show what posts you are talking about (Photo ) @jims914 Here you go. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...=353851&hl= The shiny one is polished only. The duller ones are anodized. They may look scratched but it is just dust. |

Any chance they will do 911 window frames? Check the material. Some are chrome plated brass. They have to be completely taken apart. @tdskip |

@Mepstein
@scallyk9 @914e @sixaddict @PaulFV8 @Lg914 @PaulFV8 @TonyA Update on the window posts. The polishing is nearly done. After that they go for anodizing and then to rivet on the brackets. I am going to need deposits to cover the polishing cost and anodizing which will be over $1000. I prefer Venmo or Zelle or checks. I will send PM's with that information. I will also need cores from those that can supply them. Some of you have already send cores. I found that several post were not usable as that were twisted or had scratches that were too deep to polish out. Many more were too curved but I made a jig and recurved them. i have enough cores to supply all those that have inquired but want to be able to continue this service. |

Bruce - I’m still interested and can send you some me cores. When you pm me, including your shipping address.
I could also use a quote on early 911 aluminum window frames if you are able to do them. Thanks |

Thanks PM sent @mepstein I am doing a couple pair of early 911 frames. They are a ton of work. It takes about an hour per frame to take apart. Some of the fasteners have the rivet as part of the tab and will take some fab work to put them back together. I need to get thru with these before I take on more work. But it will be ore econimical to do yours at the same time. We can talk later |
