I'm sorting out a 914 I picked up and think I have an early 1974 1.8 instead of a 1975 1.8 that would have been with this car. The problem is I thought the EC series all had 7 digits and mine has 6. I was expecting a EC0040xxx to EC0043xxx range number and instead found this:
EC006108 may be an early 1974 series but I'm confused with the 6 digits. The car was built in Feb '75 and all other numbers match or align to the same time frame. The Chassis is #14 on week 8 in'75 and I have this on the engine: So I don't know if there are some original parts, replaced engine, coincidence on the markings or VW is just messing with me. Any help sorting this out is appreciated. Thanks, DaveB |
