Picked up a nice relay on Amazon and hooked that worthless volt meter direct to battery. So much better now. Actually useful now.Attached Image

What did it used to do? Was it wired correctly before? Were you using the console wiring harness?

Before it would tell me if I stepped on the brakes or had the turn signal on. Now it tells me what is happening at the battery.

I didn't have to mangle any of the original wiring either. That just clipped on to the relay and is used to trigger the new line to the battery (with an inline fuse) when you turn the key on.

Nice!
If it were mine I'd rotate the panel 180 degrees so that the four smaller (and more important) gauges are on top and easier to see.
