I have never seen a 1976 912E gauge with fuel gauge on bottom. All the 912E I though were 5 gauge dashes like the 911. Seemingly this would be for a 3 gauge set up

Seen in person maybe a dozen 912E's in my life, all had 5 gauges. Maybe a ROW config with only 3?

I've never heard of a 3 gauge E. Couldn't it just be custom? Look up the model number on the face.

That part # specs as oil temp & oil press for 76 912. Looks like it got rebuilt for a 914 w/ 912 2.0 swap.

This is the 912E gauge I have with the same part number. It has the brake light on the bottom. Fuel gauge was in last left hand gauge. The other gauge seems to be a stock VDO gague
