My baby was stolen this last weekend. Stolen from Autowerkes Porsche in Huntington Beach Ca. It looks like the car was targeted as other cars were broken into to move them to get to my car. I am heartbroken. As many of the long time members know my car is an over the top GT resto-mod and a multi year thread exists here on the World as testament.

WOW, that's a heart breaker! Seems like a custom car like this would be very hard to hide unless the object was to part it out at some obscure chop shop? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

So sorry for your loss. Your car is an amazing one of a kind gem. I am not an insurance expert, but usually you start with your insurance and then they go after the responsible person. Hope you have stated value insurance. Otherwise it will be harder to prove what your car is worth.

Thanks Steve. I've never had a car stolen from me, neither has Autowerkes. I am still in shock, can't believe this is real.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Let the insurance company do the work. That's what you pay them for. Many times they will pay out what they owe you per your contract and then go after the party they feel is responsible. Good luck no matter what.
Don't be surprised if the shop doesn't carry insurance for customer cars. Many don't. When I worked at a shop, I looked into it and it was cost prohibitive so they didn't get it. It was not required in Delaware. Of course, every shop and every state is different.

Sounds like the thieves had a shopping list aka Gone in 60 Seconds. Must have had a boost crew. Certainly a heart felt loss. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

So sorry to hear this, I know the shop well and thought it looked like a secure yard. The surrounding square mile is home to all sorts of auto businesses. Years ago my -6 was vandalized at a Porsche shop over a weekend. Since the car was in the shops care and custody, they had to make it right.
Whenever I have to leave the -4 overnight st my local shop , the car is stored inside on a raised lift.

Somebody needs to walk the area to see if there are any cameras that could have possibly caught something.
