My baby was stolen this last weekend. Stolen from Autowerkes Porsche in Huntington Beach Ca. It looks like the car was targeted as other cars were broken into to move them to get to my car. I am heartbroken. As many of the long time members know my car is an over the top GT resto-mod and a multi year thread exists here on the World as testament.

Let me ask an insurance question, since this was stolen from a shop should not the responsibility to make me whole in $ be on the shop, not on my insurance. |

Your car is an amazing one of a kind gem. I am not an insurance expert, but usually you start with your insurance and then they go after the responsible person. Hope you have stated value insurance. Otherwise it will be harder to prove what your car is worth. |

Many times they will pay out what they owe you per your contract and then go after the party they feel is responsible. Good luck no matter what. Don't be surprised if the shop doesn't carry insurance for customer cars. Many don't. When I worked at a shop, I looked into it and it was cost prohibitive so they didn't get it. It was not required in Delaware. Of course, every shop and every state is different. |
