So, I have read several posts and watched several videos to do with engine rebuilds. I am wondering what people recommend for the engine case sealant. In Jake Raby's video, he used Aviation gasket sealer, which I have used on other applications with great success.
That being said, this is my first type IV build, so I am seeking input from those who have done their own builds. I would like to know what you used, why and pros and cons. Thanks for any input...... |

Wurth. Orange stuff, I can't remember its name. Choice #2 is Gasgacinch. I used 574 many times with great results. Permatex Aviation is the old standby. 'Gasgacinch' which looked and smelled like contact cement was once the 'go to' My recent 3.2 short stroke has run on a stand but has not been put to work yet. Dry as a bone so far....like Dennis I'll know more in early October. Fingers crossed. |
