Casting number 901.106.101.5R with a depth of 86 mm (lip to alternator mount face). Made from die cast Magnesium.

Be aware that between 1965 and 1989, there were no less than 8 different 911 fan housings. Varying in material (aluminum, magnesium), diameter (250, 245, 226), and depth (86, 95, 106). Thank you Tom Butler..

There were two different parts made with 901.106.101.5R casting number. One with 86 mm deep housing for a 55 amp alternator or a 95 mm deep version for a 70 amp alternator (this would be part number: 911.100.008.00).

So if you’re about a 914-6, you should be looking for casting number 901.106.101.5R with a depth of 86 mm (lip to alternator mount face). As the 914-6 engine has 770W 14v generator which equates to 55 amps. Shared with 1969-74 911 (with coil studs).
