Hi,
I think I burned up my good working 1974 2.0 ecu. I reversed the wires on my coil, about that same time my ECU went out. I had an extra 1973 ecu, and that is in the car and running. Are there places to send the ECU to for repair? I’m going to open it and see if I can see obvious burn points. |

You can also post a WTB in the classifieds. I'm sure a couple of people have some lying around.

Not sure, but one or two here ( @jeffbowlsby and George at AA) can do testing but don’t know about that. Believe unit must be in a vehicle for testing.
Haven’t found anyone who can test a 1.8 ecu. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

F.I.C. (Fuel Injection Corp.) used to rebuild them but I believe they stopped a few years ago.
Best bet is to place a WTB ad here and over at the samba. If you can find an entire system from someone who is going to carbs you will have all the necessary parts. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I sent mine here years back. If there is nothing wrong....a small service fee plus shipping...which seems to be really expensive nowdays. |

Looks like they don't do ECUs for 1.8L.
Anyone know who does? |

I have the EFI Assoc 8100 Ljet tester (as well as the EFI Assoc 9100 DJet tester + 3 other Djet testers) to test all functions of the ECUs. They are made as shop diagnostic tools, and require the ECU to be installed within a full FI system with all its components to run the test protocols. They test the function of the entire system and each component.
I don’t have a 1.8L to use as a test mule but I can test all the 1.7L and 2.0L ECUs, MPSs and the other Djet components. |
