What color were 914-6 valve covers originally? Or as Porsche would have you call it: Lid for Camshaft housing Upper

I have seen at least 3 variations on cars the claim to be "original".
  1. Natural (i.e. no obvious coating like paint)
  2. Black (including letters)
  3. Black with contrasting letters

What we took off our car appeared to be magnesium and originally all black. One of them has a chip on the sealing edge, so I'm replacing them.

What you get from Stoddard for example, I think is aluminum and what I'll call natural or uncoated.

All black wearing off on the 914-6 I had here. Can't upload photos right now. Magnesium covers.
