Ok; now onto reassembling things after new door sill carpet install. Noticed that the passenger side seat belt has a handy clip that keeps the insert tab from falling down to the anchor piece down next to the seat. See first pic. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Of course, then checked drivers side and NO CLIP! See second pic. Is there supposed to be one there, or only on the passenger side? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) If so, how to source one of them?

Also of course, the PET diagram (Body: 812-00) is of no help as it shows sort of a clip but a) not a separate part so no part # and b) on the OTHER side of the belt guide bar as if to keep the belt from going too far into the retractor ????

Oh, and not to mention the small C-clip I found back behind the backpad; no telling WHERE that came from….. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

and

https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/9288...=928-803-151-02

available numerous places under 928 part numbers - requires BOTH parts:
928-803-153-02 and 928-803-151-02
one is the "top" other is the "bottom"

You could also go "modern" and use the buttons like many late-model cars:

yes, one on driver's side too.

flacas got you covered there.
just some standard VW audi part from back then.

a bit like those covers over the seat belt bolts on the targa bar.

some were plain, some stamped VW, some have the audi rings. etc.
i had the VW and audi rings stamped version but had lost them along the way.
i had to fit aussie seat belts years ago to register the car.
the label on the seat belts was "wrong" for the rego bureaucrats.
soon as i had it registered and on the road i swapped back in the originals.
but somehow misplaced the little bolt covers.

took me a bit to track those specific ones down recently, but think i might have got them from pelican too.

amazing what you find in cars.
i found some aus one cent pieces in the falcon ute under the floor mat.
they went out of circulation about the time the car was brand new!!!!

You might look and see if the small "C" clip is about 5mm; the clip that holds the targa roof handle onto the post is that size if I recall and behind the back-pad is where it would fall if it came off... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
