There is an early a mid & late
The early curved under the tailshift rod
The Mid curved over the sideshift rod & the late is completely different than pictured

Yes that should fit any side shift car.
Sure you are trying to install it correctly?

The mounting holes align with the holes on the HEs and the case. Curve up.

Took a closer look - mine just needs some messaging and possible trimming. I guess I thought these would be plug and play but after thinking about it, after 50 years of getting moved around, it figures that a newly produced one might need a little help getting into place.

Looks ok. Just did mine (also a 74 2.0).

Passengerside is a replica, drivers side is an original I found

there are three left ones. 70-72 with a downward hump front to rear, 73-73 with an upward hump to clear the late shifter, and 75 76 completely different for the emissions heat exchangers

OK, George - so which one is your part number B022119356A?
That's the one I ordered but it doesn't fit - it's kinda close but not really. Will need some massaging and trimming to make work. Wondering if I'm better off with a used/OEM one? I'm replacing one that is a bit rough so I know one fits - not just adding one.
