Are the fiberglass reproduction door pockets a viable alternative to the OEM pockets? The OEM ones on eBay all seem to have some sort of damage or are warped.

Got my RH side one from SMC ,pretty sure they do the drivers side too, quality was pretty average when I recieved mine the vinyl was peeling off and not a good fit with creases on the tight curves.
Fiberglass was pretty average one of the top slots cracked due to being way too thin.
Had to tidy all this up but don't recall it was not really expensive so take this into consideration.

I have the drivers side. Works great. I only wished I would have sanded down the edges at the top. It scratches my hand sometimes when I reach for something in there.

I was assuming I would cover them with vinyl to give them more of a finished look. The 2nd and 3rd link posted would come from Europe and I am waiting to hear what the cost of the ones sold by 914ap.com are.

I just can't see buying used ones with cracked screw holes and all warped. I have the top pieces to the driver's and passenger's side, just need the pockets themselves.

Steve, did you paint yours or did they come in black? Where did you buy yours? Any picture of it installed?

It already had black vinyl glued to it.
I will take a picture when iits light out, but from the outside it looks totally stock. I will also get a picture of the inside so you can see the jagged edges of the fiberglass.
I think it came from 914ap, but it was along time ago.

I bought a set from 914 AP about 7 yrs ago. Only drawback about the glass one is they will have to be lined with something. If you dive your hand into the box, it hurts like hell when you shove a piece of fiberglass up under your finger nail.

Ouch, that does sound painful. So a good idea to line with say a heavy felt material. Easy enough.

I wish 914ap would list a price.

Well,
We have these underway right now. We had sold the fiberglass ones (they are the same ones that SMC has). The problem was the fit at the top of the driver's side band that has the flip up "door" never fit correctly. We have solved this problem. We are currently working on trimming guides for these.
Best part, no fiberglass splinters when you reach into the pocket!

Look for a GB soon on these!

Count me in.

Observation, The area outlined, is this not finished? Looks less refined than the bottom edge.

When do you expect to have these available? Price?

Thanks. Fortunately I have all the other parts minus the pockets, and they are in good condition.

This was just a 1st shot at these. I'll be able to firm up prices once I can get an accurate estimate of time involved to scale this up. I should be starting a thread Friday -ish

Would I be correct to assume you are mocking up both the driver's and passenger's side? Looking forward to Friday.

Yes this has been longer than expected. I've been working on the dash top molds.

But I will have samples at WCR.
