A few eons ago... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

for an abbreviated length of time, I drove a Triumph GT6. Between the excessively heavy front end with the big six motor, and the swing-axle rear end, it was a handling nightmare.

It would do a 180 boot-leg turn just by looking at it wrong. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif)

Having a meager budget, we hung rebar "hooks" to catch the axle's downward motion. It did eliminate some of the positive camber by "catching" the axles. However, half the time, in half of the corners, half the wheels were in the air. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

After watching the car at an AX driven by a friend, I decided we were not meant for each other. I Traded it for a nice Vanagon. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

I'd love to drive a 550 and see first hand how it handles. Anyone in the great southwest have one?
