Relisting now that Spring has arrived (ish)

For Sale: 1970 Porsche 914 1.7l in Tangerine

I am selling my 914 after 5 years of ownership. I purchased this car in Seattle in 2018 and I believe this has always been a PNW car.
I’m hoping to sell through the forum as this has been home for the car (and I) since the first day I brought it home and thought “oh crap, how do I work on this thing!”

The forum has been a tremendous help while I have rebuilt and restored a lot on this vehicle. Huge thanks to Mark @ 914rubber, 914Werke, Mepstein and all the guys on the forum for guiding me and helping me source parts.

Asking $20,000
1.7L with D-jet, Duck tail and Riviera Wheels (wheels included in sale but not installed)
This car has always lived inside under a car cover with me and I believe was also the case with prior owner
The gentleman I purchased the vehicle from had the starter replaced, transmission rebuilt and clutch replaced during his ownership, I believe sometime in 2017.

Many labor intensive and, let’s be honest, somewhat miserable repairs have been accomplished on this including but not limited to the Hell Hole repair, Rebuilding Suspension and Calipers, Bearings, Expensive wiring harnesses, leaky oil seal replacement etc. It’s been a labor of love that the next owner will get to enjoy as most of the big ticket items have been addressed.

Tires have lots of life left in them. They are Michelin 195/60R15.

What’s left?
At some point the seats could use some new covers. I have recovered (over the original material) the seat bottoms, easily removed. The paint has some imperfections but overall still shines and looks great! It is a repaint of the original tangerine, not sure from when. It is smothered in wax and comes with a cover to keep it protected!

I hope this car finds a great home. I have really enjoyed owning it and my goodness have I learned lots of new things!

If you’d like to see more pictures or ask more about the car than is listed above, let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

Car is located in Olympia, WA. Come take a look and see if this is the right car for you!

2 totes of spare parts and bonus extras included.

While I am selling I am not desperate for a quick sale. I want the car to go to a great owner for the right price and will happily take care of the old girl until that day comes.

Seems like a reasonable ask for a vehicle with that much work done. Great color. You might want to post a couple of pics of the longs.

Seats are an easy fix and relatively inexpensive.

Good luck with the sale!

Looks a lot like mine, from my hometown. Same year and color. Good luck with the sale. Seems like a very reasonable price.

I just re-read everything you did to this car. That is quite the list. I also just drove mine to work and ran errands today. I know folks sometimes diss the early cars but if the bushings are done they shift ok and the 1.7 is a fun little engine. This is a nice car someone should jump in for that price. Is the ducktail easy to remove? I assume it is on with adhesive? I personally don't care for them much. If it doesn't sell soon I'd remove that and stick it on BAT with you're asking price as the reserve.

Very fair price for the amount of work/sweat/tears put into it. One of my favorite colors - and looks great with steelies. Hope it sells quickly for you.

Thanks for all the kind words! Greatly appreciated. Will list some more pics soon to include underside of the car and the longs.

One small patch was made on the bottom of the jack plate. This was before I realized you could buy those. Other than that the condition of the passenger long looks really good.

Patch repair in the passenger side. I believe it was a 2 fold issue that I repaired. Partial rust due to the battery tray and typical passenger side issues. The other was due to the prior owner using the floor as a jack point this crating a nice hole.

Either way all rust was cut out. Inside the cavity was wire brushed and por15 applied as far as possible and then welded up. More POR 15 and then car undercoat spray.
