anyone here that has a Wevo converted 915 also run their internal gate shifter?

I almost did the 1st gear money shift last weekend so am considering one.

I drove a Carrera race car with one. Does exactly as advertised. Very easy to feel the difference of each gear location.

Thanks for the replies. I had a wevo shifter that I recently took off. I don’t want a shorter throw anymore. I need to slow the shifts down (been tearing up the gearbox)

Wevo nor Patrick Motorsports recommend the wevo shifter with the 915 kit either. Too much leverage and difficulty keeping it all adjusted correctly… I think I may agree.

I may give this a try:

My car came with a 1st / Rev lockout. It has a pull tab on the shifter to access those gears. Not sure of maker - maybe custom. I'll snap some pics next time I've got it all uncovered.
Not great pics, but maybe of use:

You reach down with 2 fingers and pull the tab up and it opens the gate to 1st and Rev.

Sorry, I missed this thread back in April...

I have a 73 914/6 conversion with a Wevo tailshift, Wevo internal gateshift and a Wevo 915 shift lever. It's a street car built this way some years back by a previous owner. I'm not happy with the shifting and I really do need to get my act together and try a standard 915 shift lever. I did talk with Hayden at Wevo back in 2021 and over the phone he did sort of imply that the Wevo shift lever wasn't a great idea given what else had been installed. I was hoping to speak to him in person so went to San Carlos yesterday only to find the place locked up tight. Called them and it seems they've pretty much moved shop to Florida! Oh well.
