Good afternoon Gents,

I was hoping for some input on 18 inch wheels on my car. It currently has OEM hollow turbo twists but am considering going to a different Rim like the APEX EC-7RS as an option. The car currently has 911 brakes front and rear, however, I will be putting on refurbished red Boxster brakes all around. Although I understand beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, I was hoping to hear what you think might look better, especially with the red Boxster brakes installed. Also, any other 18 inch wheel recommendations would be appreciated as well.Attached Image Attached ImageAttached ImageAttached Image[attachmentid=876

The 996 my02 wheels do a great job showing off calipers. Never seen them on a 914 though. How about the larger newer fuchs?

New Fuchsfelge wheels are the first thing that popped in my head. Could be an interesting way to go. Fuchsfelge USA is currently running a 15% off sale, too...

Thanks for the input. Keep it coming. Honest opinion. Do you think the current OEM rims look good or should I move in a different direction. Thanks

Depending on the Rim, most 17's and 18's look like wagon wheels on a 914. Personally I think 16" rims looks the best. My six has 17" Fikse FM10's on it and certain angles i am on the fence on it, but overall I like them. Note that the taller the rim the worse the ride is, due to less rubber on the road. The 914 was designed with a tire height of 25" total.

Mine are Ronal R9 wheels. 16X8 with 225/50 on the front, 16x9 245/45 rears. Note the fronts have an off set of 11, where the Fuchs 8s are 10.6. Rears are 13 offset vs the Fuchs 9 of 15.

I'm with Steve that 17" is the biggest that look good on a 914. One thing that makes a difference is if you keep the edge of the rim black (or at least dark), that masks the larger, lower profile tire a bit and keeps the visual proporitions in better scale, at least IMO. But as has been said: It's your car, do what makes you happy. Particularly when it's easily swapped items like wheels.

I like the Fikse FM 10’s. Was considering 18 again as my car has a thousand dollars worth of rubber on them already lol. I like 17’ as well.

There's a saying... if you don't like how the wheels look paint them black.

With a red car and red calipers black wheels would actually look sharp.

Personally I like 17s the best on a 914. I went with red Boxster wheels on a black car which will likely get wrapped in electric blue some day.

Your APEX example is a good looking wheel though it looks a little large for that wheel arch.

Here is a 17" option that fits the wheel wells nicely, shod with Raptor ZR AS 235/55's

I like these too. my favorite are the original fuchs but the new ones from USA Fucheledge would be a close second, or the BBS.

I have a set of Carrera IV's from a 996, at one point i was going to put on a boxster, they also are 8'' fronts and 10'' rears same as the Carrera II's. PM if you are interested i got them from a friend that used them on his 911 for DE days at Robeling Road, no rash at all just need to be cleaned up. i have no use for them and need to get them out of my garage! they are 18" rims.

They were off of one of the many 911s that have come n gone over the years. Had them in storage for a long time. Yes … I am using spacers.
