Tom might be a member here, but if so he is not an active one. I remember back when he bought this car. It was all painted white, then he had it painted orange. That's when it got its nickname "The Orange Crate". The livery was updated a number of years later.

I uncovered the race history of this car which raced in FIA/IMSA events between 1972 and 1981. Tom settled on the 1981 livery for its most recent restoration. the VIN is 914.043.0529

Sebring 1972

This site keeps lists of VINs for the various years and types of all known 914s that
still exist, were destroyed or are owned by members here.
Everyone here is encouraged to add to the list.
You can add any 914....ones you've owned, seen, saw advertised.......etc.etc.

No, that's 427 /435 '67 Corvettes. 10,000 were produced. There are only 15,000 left

Like the guy who tracks Navy SEALS, he says of the 10,000 out there he has met at least 100,000!

Real SS built in the Ohio GM plant , but same week I bought it I removed the badge on the grill; liked the cleaner look of all flat black. Always wondered why our local Van Nuys CA. (SoCal) didn't build there; the plant shared Camaro and Firebird assembly lines.
