Rebuilding a tailshift Trans coming soon.

I wanted to locate Red-Beard Guide, but it's disappeared over the ineternet hosting ravages of time.....seemingly linked to his own site.

Anyone have a pdf version to share or a working link to the trans rebuild picture guide.

What I was on web in 30 seconds>.

Keep looking - Google is your buddy in the search eng____"I used James' (red beard) article to evaluate and rework a 914 901. It was the first tranny I have ever done and it was a piece of cake. I think I'm gonna try to set up ring and pinions next.

That's one article we don't have any info on. And, the most important thing about compiling info for DIY articles is to include any shortcuts or alternative methods that can be employed without having to have every official Porsche tool.

James' article is full of such info and I had to buy only one tool, the big deep socket. And there's a way around that too, I found out later. But at $7 at AutoZone, I'm not complaining.

I set my entire shift fork arrange ment by eye and the thing works like a champ. But, someone has to tell you what to look for to do this. It's tedious and not for production ass'y. It can work; worked for me."

someone on the bird board

Have fun

Try this, see if it works. I saved it some time ago but I can't get to that site from work:

Thanks, I’ll save that link.
I’m actually looking for the similar 911 wire diagram link. I printed off all the 911 diagrams, laminated them and then left than at the shop where I used to work. Now that I have my own shop, I want copies for my techs.

Same for me for those 914 ones. Got my art-director wife to stich them together into a long high-quality PDF and then just bring it to FedEx for a nice color printout whenever I need a new copy.
