I just acquired a 914 with a 1.7 engine. It runs great until two of the plugs foul. I removed both injectors from one side of the motor (one cylinder was fouling, the other was OK) when I cranked the motor the injector that had been fouling the plug was spraying about twice the gas that the other injector was. When I switched the connectors, the other injector was now spraying twice the amount. The only other bit of info I have is that the previous owner installed a Pertronics ignition in the car..

Are the two plugs that are fouling located diagonally opposite each other? If so, sounds like your trigger points are bad.

pull out the trigger points and clean them, and clean out inside the dizzy where they reside.

Try it again.

There are alot of tests on Djet here if you do a search.
