Nice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) Enjoy the milestone.

We are both at the same stage on engine builds. Are you following a book or video series? I've been using a combination of Wayne Dempsey How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines and the Klassik How to Rebuild Air-Cooled Engine videos.

I’m not the actual builder ( competency deficiency) but did pick up Wayne’s book.
I am “chief parts procurer”….
Only issue book has many errors so you must be cautious.

So far as a /4 goes, I can tackle those quite easily. The /6 is another story, there is quite a bit going on there and often best left to a seasoned pro. When is your ETA

Agree …no place for learning how to do it.
Engine could be basically done in a couple of weeks. Builder plays golf and works a light schedule….My carburetor restoration “appointment “ is November (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) .
No real rush as body remains on slow.

In the two steps forward, one step back engine build had a hiccup. Guy that did heads for me forgot to mention to me that pistons needed to be flycut to clear bigger valves ……builder caught it of course. Knocked me out of the “production line” but no harm no foul.
P/C now back so once his current project has been completed it should get done.
So here is latest progress…….Another stellar restoration by Bruce. (Thank you)

Today cam timing was done……..Had a set back and was bumped out of line.
Back to build now with plan to do a run stand when it’s done.
Feel like I am back “ on the wagon”. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Back to build now with plan to do a run stand when it’s done.

If you don't already have a running stand, Zalex (Tom Perazzo) makes a ring to mount the starter. He also offers a basic control box and stand if you need them. I have this for our 356 engine. Tom is a super good guy to boot.

Visited the “heart doc” this morning to drop off more parts.
He made me smile. The fan was refinished by Shaun @ Tru6 and he also did the added plating.
Very happy with the quality.
