I really love deep 6's on a 914. My 914 had two of them when I bought it.

Engine as of today……looks like I have located a run stand….expect it in a couple of weeks. Also delivering engine tin engine mounts and heat exchangers to builder.
Just celebrating small victories.

You are not running the stock Marelli distributor? There are new cap and rotor sets for them now. And a Pertonix module too.

A 100 years ago I was converted to a Bosch distributor. I have the Marelli but thought this was better performance.
Am I incorrect…..enlightened me.
Thanks

A question……if I’m painting engine tin is high temp paint needed. Generally have powder coated so didn’t need to be concerned. I’m thinking not……but figure someone has actual experience.
Thanks

The only reason people removed the Marelli distributors was due to the fact that cap and rotor sets were completely unavailable. But now that they are again available, the Marelli works great.

Provided you don't get one that is worn out. Check where the advance weights hit the fixed plate on top of the shaft under the rotor. I had one that was so worn, there was a ridge that the advance weights would hang on. And that would keep it advanced. I found another and it was not worn out. So now the engine will come back to idle without trickery.
