Ok, this is way OT, but...

I'm looking for a place in the Bay Area to move into during the month of August. I have lived in San Diego for the past few years, so I do not have very many contacts in the region to help me find somewhere to live.

If anyone knows of a place or has an extra room and is looking for a roommate, shoot an e-mail to jkeyzer@ieee.org and let me know about it!

About Me:
25, male
Electrical Engineer out of UCSD (Masters too, I can be smart sometimes.)
Easy going, few/no bad habits, generally quiet and nooffensive.
Can be a nerd. Social but not extremely outgoing, doesn't party all the time.
Addicted to 914s, owned a 911 for a while too.
Saturn yellow 72 1.7 with 5-lug conversion, sideshift.
Doesn't smoke, no drugs.

Looking for a place:
Pretty much anywhere in the Bay - anywhere in SF, Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, San Jose, Palo Alto, Mountainview, etc etc etc. No Gilroy, no Davis/Sacramento.
With cool roommates, car junkies or tech geeks get bonus points.
That has some space to work on cars and some street parking. (I own 2 cars.)
Garage would be a big plus. I can share.

Any questions... jkeyzer@ieee.org

Thanks guys. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

hey

sorry i don't have room in my studio, but you might want to checkout craigslist.org. it's the best resource in bay area for finding stuff like this. hell, i've used it to buy my 914, get a girlfriend (this one turned out psycho, but what the hell?) and sell tons of shit.

there are a lot of 914's on the peninsula and in the south bay. i think this is where they come to retire or get a second chance on life. do shoot me an email when you come up and we'll get a beer. it's good to know that i'm not the only younger guy (24) on the board.

My boyfriend and I are looking for a place right now. He works in Palo Alto, and I in Los Gatos. Between the two of us, we have two trucks, three mid-engine cars, and a motorcycle. So we're thinking of a bigger place, hopefully a house with a nice big garage and long driveway. If we find anything, I'll keep you posted.

By the way, Nathan, I'm 24, Brian's 25. I'm not an old fart yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif)

Brad - No job yet, still looking. I am a wireless guy but I have broadened by search to circuit design in general since I have experience there also. I was into analog circuits before I got my MS degree.

Nathan - Thanks for the tip. I have been using craigslist recently to look for places. There are a lot to choose from. I am even considering finding a place in SF to be closer to my girlfriend (she lives in Inner Richmond) despite the fact that my job will probably be in the South Bay. But in the end if I'd rather live with people I know or have the same interests.

Jenny - Let me know if you find a place! A garage and a long driveway, mmm...

Fine, all of us rich older farts will have one hell of an "old fart" BBQ then!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif)

PS: Think about the SF to Richmond drive before you settle in on SF! $5 to cross the Golden Gate and $3 to cross back on the Bay Bridge! You gota pay to go anywhere except south!!

Just FYI!

I'm starting to look at rooms in Palo Alto/Mountainview now. I think it's a good compromise between access to the city and a possible work commute to San Jose.

I found one place that is a strong candidate - I'd even have a place to work on my 914!!!
