The diagrams all say 200c or 120c or 150c. Maybe I am misunderstanding the diagram.

Based on date code 6 72 and made in Germany stamp I would speculate that it’s original to car and a 200C sensor.

Yes - sensor affects gauge calibration

You can probably loosen it 1/2 turn and get info from the other side to be 100% sure and only get minor dripping.

if you weren't already aware you are missing the cover, so you may be seeing cooler temps at the gauge than actual.
