Hello-
My 1970 914-6 has developed a crack in the windshield. In your opinion/experience, would you entrust the replacement of this windshield to a local auto glass house, or should I try to locate someone that specializes on older vehicles? Thanks. |

Randel,
I can give you the name of someone in the Hartford area who recently installed a windshield for me in a 914. He works full time for a glass shop and does it on his own in the evenings as well. Removing the chrome (aluminum) trim without damaging it can be tricky. Also, some of the trim clips are bound to break, so buy some new ones before hand. They are installed while the glass is out. |
