Whilst on a trip with the wife and the lovely monsters.....Katherine, Kristen and Danielle (9, 9 and 7), to San Diego and Sea World....yeah it's a dry heat......

Some dork in a brand new Cayenne Turbo with paper plates did something that MOST people would NEVER do......

Since the wifey does not like me to hit the apexes and the heel a toe shift with the automatic in the new Yukon is a NO NO....I usually ride in the second seat......so.....we are on our way to the train station to drop my hairybutt off to get home for work on Monday......and this dork flies up on the right side while we are waiting to turn right ourselves......

The putz tries to squeeze between the curb and a 50 ton Yukon XL and then lays on the horn.......geez, exsqueeeeezeeee mmmmeeeee.....we make the turn and I hear the turbo wind up and this scheisterhausen throws ME the bird......

Geez, no wonder most new P-car owners don't flash......they are former.........fill in the blank. If I was alone and that happened I would have chased him down and ripped his gold chains off and poured his latte in his lap.......

Rant over,........8^)

Hey..... nothing makes you feel better than carving the words "Yuppi Dick" with a key into the back of an $80,000 car...

Don't feel bad..... I waved a woman in a boxter the other day as I turned around the corner. She turned her nose up at me, and then stalled the car as she tried to take off from a stop--LOL

The laugh in and of itself was worth it...LOL

You've heard the one about the difference between the Corvette and a catus.......................... With the Corvette, the prick is on the inside.

It seems that some high priced Porsche owners fall into the same catagory.

Hope you joking, I've had my prized possesion keyed before, no one deserves that...
And seeing that boulder is a college town and I work walking distance from campus I walked past a early 80's sc targa that someone keyed "dad's money" on the decklid. made me sick to my stomach. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif)

It's nice to see a *unbelievably dumb-a$$ed brain dead reference to a NICE PLACE removed from this spot* get out SoCal way... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/fighting19.gif)

The proper response is to turn right anyway ("Dude! We couldn't hear your horn over our tunes/screaming kids! You should get an American SUV with an American horn.").

If he was in a bike lane, you could've turned into him and nearby cyclists would help you beat him.

...sooner or later, somewone won't react as fast as your wife and he will get hit. Karma.

What kind of myopic statement is that?

Im sure there are assholes that drive cars in Oregon.

Location makes no difference on peoples tendencies to be an a-hole.

back to the cayenne, I know a guy who club races an F class 911. He tows it with a cayenne (24' haulmark closed trailer stuffed with spares). He says it tows like a dream.

Oh scotty Im a NY native so I cant finish with out this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bootyshake.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pissoff.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/finger.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/finger.gif)

Ouch!

I'm a transplanted New Yorker and even I felt that!

The dinks here in Tampa are the itsy-bitsy-SUV drivers (CRV's, RAV4's, Sportage's, Grand Viagra's) that think they're driving a 'Vette and are going to beat me down. Suddenly, they realize the error of their ways while visiting the limits (i.e. suspension dynamics and tire adhesion) of their fantasy ride, which usually occurs right around an area affectionately known as "Malfunction Junction" (I-275/I-4).

And you'd think they'd know better ...

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol3.gif) , Tim! That's the spirit! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I feel like I'm back there already!

I just got back from NY (Okay, Manhattan) and the guy's style (up until he zoomed off) fit nicely with my experiences there...as I walked around town.
QUOTE

True, true. I am humbly corrected. I was just awe struck by the casual use of the horn and invective as people drove about town with twice as many cars as the streets were built for. Simply amazing! I love driving in Boston, But NYC would take me several days to get used to. I really admire the UPS driver I saw...everyone there (especially him) knows exactly how wide their car is.

Oh yeah, way more than our share...but they don't honk. . . . and many are on pedal power....

Absoutively!

Sorry if you felt maligned. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) The only thing I didn't like on my trip was the beer... but the mixed drinks more than made up for it!

(And yes, I've been upstate and know it's NOT NYC...love it there too...more -- better beer)

Many apologies (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif)

hehehe

stirring the pot

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

NY is home to great cultural institutions like Watkins Glen, and (well its gone) Bridgehampton.

And I responded exactly as you expected a NY native to respond.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

You should try the beer at Typhoon Brewery next time your in NY , or better yet take a trip the Brooklyn Brewery. They have good brews....

Also Mcsorleys is not to be missed. I dont think they have dusted since the late 1700's but thats parts of the charm. The pot bellied stove, a dark and a light , and a cheese platter.

And I can take a 5 min walk from my house and hook into some nice striped bass...

Of course NY has more a-holes per capita than other locales, because more people live here

I wouldnt be ashamed to drive a Cayenne if I won it in some sort of lottery

peace

Oo, oo! Next time I'm up that way (VT, NJ, NY) I'm askin' for directions! That Mcsorleys sounds like my kinda place. Brewery tours (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) winery tours (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

I knew I was in trouble when the bar menu proudly touted its beers as being "imported direct from *insert name of flat midwestern state here*" (best long island ice tea ever, though...and cheaper than the beer!)

...bet you thought I'd name a state, huh? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol3.gif)

I'll throw some gasoline on this thread..... spoke by phone with a vendor in NY today. Hung up the phone and remarked to my wife, "sure could tell I was talking to a New Yorker, rude and abrubt". Sorry, but I think the reputation is earned.

My instinctive reaction to getting the bird from someone is to smile and give 'em a little girlie wave (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wavey.gif), I find it pisses them off to no end.

You should never key a stranger's car. That sort of thing should be reserved for the pricks you work with (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Ok, just to clarify, of COURSE I would never actually key someone's car, cur their tires, or pour sugar in the gas tank.

But..... much like running over my X wife with a greyhound bus.......... It's always nice to dream and vent out a bit--LOL

Chill out!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

gotta chime in, just moved to san diego from manhatten in january. the drivers out here suck. bad. my commute from the north county to la jolla takes me past FATAL accidents nearly every day (standard highway route, no rain or snow). suck suck suck. i worry about what might happen to my 914 should we ever make it off the stands (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

driving in NYC is thrilling (FDR is my favorite) but not nearly as dangerous as SD.

Speaking of Cayennes just got an invitation to go to Porsche sponsored Cayenne driving event. Get to drive a Cayenne on closed course, offroad and get free food. Should be interesting. WOnder if it will turn me into more of a raving As%hole?
