I am working on cleaning up my front suspension hardware as part of an overhaul. While getting the old rubber out of the front drop links, I noted that they are different overall lengths: 26.5cm vs 25.3cm.

Is there a preferred length for these? I am planning on running Bilstein B6s, in case that matters, and the sway bar measures in at 15mm.

I'd be interested in going with a used part for whichever is the recommended length ... if anyone has one ...

Thanks.

Unless you are a purist, I'd suggest adjustable drop links.

You can shorten the longer link by cutting ou a section, insert an 8mm rod and weld it back togethet.
Note the orientaion of the ends to each other.

This way you can actually tune your sway bar.
no plastic bushings too

Thank you all for the guidance. I am out of budget for this winter's projects so will take Bruce's advice and cut/weld. It will match the shorter link when done.

And I'll put adjustable drop links in my wish list for a later date ...

I'd suggest trading with someone.

I highly dislike welded back together suspension components and I will REFUSE to use modded stuff on my customer's cars. I'm on "the hook" if I mod...

My own stuff might be different.

In your case, even on my own car, I'd just trade...

What I would do is watch the classifieds for a used set of adjustable links...

Only problem here is you will be in COMPETITION with me for said links. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/devil.gif)

I HOPE you lose! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ninja.gif)

Hmm, is that a challenge? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

... but if anyone has one to sell or trade, let me know. That would be my preference.
