I saw this and I thought they might work for 108mm axle conversion. They are 6 bolt but I have no idea about the bolt pattern. Good for 400 hp for the GTO, probably more than enough for 914 conversion. Something you might want to play with. Same length as stock 914 axle 20.25".

The economy option is only $19. Wont hurt too bad if it doenst work out.  |

Ordered two of the cheap ones!
I've recently done a complete AC overhaul on a 06 GTO and the rear suspension and axles were MEATY! Driving it felt like a Camaro and a Corvette had a love child. It was a Holden and a bunch of it was way different than standard GM. Even the hood release is foreign feeling... It had the MOST powerful AC I've ever seen in a GM. Its problem was freeze up! I saw 18 degrees on a 100+ day. Could not buy a decent new compressor, had to have its compressor rebuilt... With much work got it UP to 33.5 degrees! Freaking fast, cold car... |

I just got 911 complete half shafts and then floating empi axles from PMB it really was not very expensive. Unfortunately I have extra 911 axles now lol

Rockauto shows one left as a cliseout. Amazon dhows them for $64. Anyone have experience with GSP brand? I know some CVs are junk and fail in a short time.

When I can I re-boot OEM axles.
When the CVs are trashed I offer the customer OEM axles which are commonly over $500 each OR cheap Chinese copies. The replacement axles usually have different boots (that you cannot find down the road) and are of lower quality. Most have a "lifetime" warranty... When I'm installing Chinese axles, I ALWAYS replace the output seals on the tranny/rear end as leaks are stupid common. The Chinese axles have slightly different ODs and I can almost guarantee you will have leaks. What I haven't seen is axle failures. At least not in the last decade. The Chinese axles are always under 150 to the customer and I've had NO ONE choose the OEM stuff. Most of the time I can purchase the entire axle with a warranty for LESS than the cost of the OEM boot kits and its less work... I'm not a fan of Chinese parts but the axles appear to work fine. The axles that I bought via this thread were the least expensive I've EVER bought in 40 years... I bought them as "cores" to do experimentation with. Too cheap to resist! When I don't need the parts tomorrow I get them overnight! When I desperately need the parts because I have a car stuck on my lift... The shipment goes to Puerto Rico first and sits there for 4 days before it makes its way to Texas (and it was coming from Tennessee!). That really happened! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) Of course, the axles showed up today! Cost $9 and was less than 24 hours to delivery! Cheapest and NASTIEST axles I've ever bought. Looked like someone may have tried to install these and shipped them back. Moly CV grease EVERYWHERE! Still look meaty as hell! 10-1.5 mm mounting bolts. No obvious locating steps. Looks like they use JUST the bolts for alignment purposes and torque delivery. I prefer stull that locks together or, at least, has alignment pins/dowels to reduce twisting forces on the mounting hardware. I may call the 06 GTO I worked on back in to inspect the GTO flanges. Maybe these fit into a circular depression in the flanges. These were priced accordingly! |

Yeah, nothing better than having something to experiment at a bargain basement price. I would have done it but I do not have any 108mm stuff.

The axles bolt up to 108mm stubs and transmission side flange (get a couple roll pins for each side). Both look to be the same length from my quick and dirty measurements with a tape measure. The axel length looks to be around 20 4/14 inches (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . You'll see that it's compared with a GNK/Lobro 911 axel that will use Patrick Motorsports adapters on the transmission side with a 5mm spacer on the hub side of the axel. So, yeah they'll work and with care and maybe slightly less HP, who knows how long they'll last? But, what do you care for a $19 or a $34 axel. I mean really, getting two 930 style CVS for $19 and a correct length axel and the boots. We will still be putting the GNK/Lobro axel on when the 911 e-brake and modified swing arms go on, but these will at least be spares. Thank you @914sixer for finding these and sharing! And others for finding the low cost ones! Can not believe $19 for an axel and only $16 for shipping both! Attached thumbnail(s)
