@gulf908 Auto/Aero Books in Burbank is the Best retail store for us gearheads...I've met many authors & celebrities there on book signing days too ! You can call or email them ahead of your trip & see who might be there signing during SoCal Lit week. The Petersen Auto Museum just over the Hollywood Hills from Burbank (Wilshire + Fairfax, L.A. 90036) has a large gift shop with good selection of books, posters, swag, and the Life-size MatchBox (with 911) display in there as well.
If you're driving about, approx 4 miles west ot the museum in Beverly Hills there are several more of these life-size Matchbox displays hanging vertically outside a storefront at the corner of (little) Santa Monica Bl + Beverly Drive. Enjoy your trip !
