Shouldn’t the license plates say Betty Betty Betty What I find interesting is that it looks like he has two cars, different colors, with the same plate! The state of Texas re-issued the plate number on my wife's Oddy to a "classic" plate. After she was stopped, for the 5th time, for stealing a 62 Dodge, we got new plates... Police seem to NOT understand, not only is it NOT a 62 Dodge, the plates look like they have been on the car for years. It's the ONLY time we've been stopped in a Minivan! 5 times in less than 3 months... How do you get away with that Clay? Only the blue 914-6 is currently registered. And we don't do "classic" or "antique" plates. Just standard plates. Antique and classic plates have restrictions we don't like. The plate "Clays" was my father's custom plate. In Texas, custom plates like this are owned by the person, and they can assign it to a vehicle they own. He had it for years, since I was in high school. At one time it was on the white Jeep pickup I now own, and on multiple vehicles over the years. It was even on his 1955 Chevy Bel Air convertible for a while. When he passed, it was on the GMC SUV that I inherited. So when I got the SUV registered, the plate was released. I anxiously watched the website where the custom plates were sold, and the day it showed up, I grabbed it for my red six conversion. When it came time to renew the plate, the red six was down with the engine out. So I couldn't get it inspected, and I couldn't register it. Which meant the plate would be released back into the available pool. To keep that from happening, we transferred to the blue factory six as a placeholder so I didn't lose it. When the red six is back up and running, I will have the plate transferred back to it. The set of plates on the Blue six were the ones that were on the SUV when my father passed, and the set on the Red six were the set I got when I first registered that plate in my name. So I have two sets of metal plates with "Clays" on them. I want to talk Betty into this: On her car: "Bettys" On my six: "Clays" On the blue factory six: "Ours" I probably won't be able to talk Betty into it for her car. But I am going to try. Ok I’ll play the titles say : Betty Betty Betty The title on the orange one is in her name. The title on the red one is in my name. The title on the blue one is in both of our names. That is how we determine the person making the final decisions on everything done to the car. With the blue one, we have to agree on any modifications. |
